Life and Family: Life is good. My daughter, Lauren, and my son, Josh bring me great joy. Lauren has two adorable boys, ages 4 and almost 2, and being a Grandmother is wonderful. My work for the National Flood Insurance Program is interesting and challenging. I enjoy living in VA and taking advantage of all the great things in the Washington DC area.
Next 10 Years: Considering getting a certificate in mediation from George Mason U. and doing mediation work part-time. However, I'm on the fence. Might, instead, want to retire at about 63 or 65 and travel, take fun classes, do some volunteer stuff, and enjoy the Grandkids.
Favorite Memories: Starting with Jackson Park Elementary, roaming the playground at recess with Sheila Brin, hanging out with Karen Fleisher, Marilyn Raifee, Beverly Padratzik, Randee Ross, Valerie, Margie S., Gloria Spiritas, and Rhody Eisenstein, Gerry Musen, Alfie and Harry Toll. Expanding friendships at Hanley Jr. High to Debbie Ruffman, Ellen Eisen, Ellen Rashbaum, Mark Kaufman, Bobby Arnold, Mark Wiseman, Mark ?, Tommy Mansbacher, and more. Then, at U.City High, spending many wonderful hours with Karen Markovitz, and fun times with Joani Kristol, Racey Cohen. Being in awe of the talents of Kathy Ku. Russian class with Mrs. Rosenbaum, and Friday Fun Day. Folk dancing at the Heman Park Community Center to the Salty Dog Rag with Tommy Mansbacher. It was almost like flying! Dairy Queen and Dairy Dell, and Hamburger Heaven and Steak n' Shake. Riding bikes to Washington U, and Forest Park, and climbing in the waterfall. Taking the bus to the Fox Theatre with lots of girlfriends, see! ing the movie "The Birds", and going nuts when we saw a flock of pidgeons outside the theatre afterwards. And, many New Years Eve sleep-over parties at my (my parents') house. Does anyone remember the Saturday afternoon at my house, when we smoked my Mom's Salem cigarettes, decided we needed to cover up the smoke smell before she returned, so we turned on the air conditioner and left the house for a while, to see if when we returned the smoke was gone. Meanwhile, we locked ourselves out of the house. The only way in was to break a basement window, where Margie S., the smallest of us, climbed through to open the door. U.City was a great place to grow up, and my memories of people and places there are cherished.

Despite the winter weather here we are enjoying this part of the state which doesn't seem to have as many economic woes as other areas of Michigan. We have downsized into a beautiful new condominium on the site of a former golf course and are enjoying that carefree lif! estyle. We are only 2 1/2 hours from Chicago and Detroit. Jon and I are active in our synagogue and still exploring the area, having only lived here since Oct. I have not yet met any U. City graduates in the Kalamazoo area.
Next 10 Years: I hope to say I am retired at the next reunion. I would love to be able to spend more time with my present and any future grandchildren. Travel would also be another high priority while I am still in good enough shape to enjoy it. Most of all I hope to have continued good health to achieve all of these goals.
Favorite Memories: I loved that everything to make my life complete at the time was safely in the cocoon of U. City- excellent education, caring family and teachers and enough activities to keep me entertained. Present Occupation: Founder/Director/Physical Therapist of Renaissance healing & Learning Center

Life and Family: Because of a back injury in 1996, I was able to create a Vocational Rehab program of my dreams: I had been working as a Physical Therapist for over 25 years when I sustained a back injury which created problems enough so I couldn't work for 2 years. In 1998, I continued my path of working with Special Needs population with equine assisted therapy. In 2000, I received a Graduate Certificate in Hippotherapy from Western Michigan University. In 1998, after having been working as a physical therapist in assorted clinical and home health settings, I founded Renaissance Healing & Learning Center. It is located in Cotati, CA. in Sonoma County, which is an hour north of San Francisco. We provide "Hippotherapy" (...Healing on Horseback)and other forms of Equine Assisted Therapy for children and adults with physical and emotional challenges. Our website (created by one of my sons, Jay Sandler)is www.rhlc.net I have 5 horses (Stormy, Allie, Libby, Smoke, and Buddy)! who are the "therapists". Allie, a Thoroughbred was abandoned at a local racetrack, which I rehabilitated to become a therapy horse. In 2005, Allie was chosen by North American Riding for the Handicapped Association as Thrapy Horse of the Year for Region 11 (California, Hawaii, Nevada). Buddy, a cute Paint Miniature Horse with one blue eye, pulls a cart. Libby is a Tennessee Walking Horse, Stormy and Smoke are Missouri Fox Trotters! I have also become certified in Aquatic Therapy and have been enjoying that venue as well. I was divorced in 2000, and was able to buy a home on 2 acres in 2001, just around the corner from the therapy facility. My daughter, Sarah, now 12 yrs. old attends a Special Ed. day class, and lives half time with me. I have recently acquired a Canine Companion Facility Service Dog, "Max", whose job it is to help with therapy at Renassance Healing & Learning. We are the first Equine Assisted Therapy program to have a therapy dog from Canine Companions for Independence. Max also is helping a great deal with Sarah as well. My grown sons, Mike, Rob, and Jay are doing well. Michael has moved to L.A. and continues his work in the non-profit field of social, environmental, and economics. Jay is working in the bio-tech industry, and attending classes toward his MBA. Twin brother Rob is working on his graduate degree in astro-physics....
Next 10 Years: Spend more time with family, continue the work that I have, hoping to prosper, stay healthy, and continuing to enjoy wonderful friendships. Play the piano. Take more vacations.

While serving a 5 year stint in the army our son met his wife. They have 2 beautiful children-Gianna is age 8 and Jolie is 6. It is so wonderful being grandparents-takes a lof of energy but I wouldn't trade it for anything. If I had known how wonderful being grandparents was we would have had the grandchildren first. Our son now is enrolled in the police academy. After graduating from high school I recieved a B.A. in sociology from UMSL-which I have yet to use. For about 20 years my husband and I had drugstores in North St. Louis. We closed our last store in 1997. Since then I have been at Macys (Famous Barr). Over the years I have seen a lot of friends from U. City. Still enjoy playing the game of "where did you go to high school". Starting in 1997 I started going to family reunions-relatives from my great grandmothers branch (the Chana branch) and the other 5 branches(her brothers and sisters. The first gathering was held in the Catskills . It was overwhelming to suddenly know all these distant cousins. I now have relatives from England, USA,Italy,Israel,Canada, and South America. spend a lot of time emailing all the relatives-this has been a truly wonderful and fulfilling experince.
Next 10 Years: In the next 10 years I would like to do more volunteer work ( am thinking about hospice care and the special olympics.) Want to feel more spirtual-will try to become more active in the Jewish Renewal movement. I wll want to conttinue taking dance lessons-can't get enough of dancing of all types. My husband and I want to keep being in fairly good health and in this decade will hopefully retire. Recently we have started taking some fantastic trips. Hopefully we can continueto travel, see our children and grandchildren as much as possible. And continue to run into U. City aquaintnaces.
Favorite Memories: There are so many favorite memories. One of my highlights was always going to WigWam and dancing up a storm to such great music. Having met such great kids in our class. My favorite teachers were Mr. Jackoway,Mr Bewig and Ms Grey. Going out on dates and then swinging by Steak and Shake honking our horns to see who was there.Enjoyed all our musical productions that were put on thru the years. Have enjoyed working on the 40th reunion committee and have certainly enjoyed seeing everyone this weekend .

Present Occupation: Activities Director/Property Manager at Heritage of Hawk Ridge in Lake St. Louis

Life and Family: First, I don't know if anyone besides Gene Cohen even remembers me (saw Marty Hendon at Walgreens one day, he didn't seem to know who the hell I was, and we were fraternity brothers at UMSL!) - I grew up in the loop in U. City, but I was out of town for a while and came back to St. Louis for my senior year. I actually should have graduated in 66 and I know a lot more people from that class than the 67 class. I went to the 67 class 30 year reunion and really only saw a few people that remembered me. It was somewhat depressing. But anyway, I had 69 jobs before settling into the one I have now, which I've had for the past 5.5 years. Started out in property management but left it for a while and toured the country doing stand-up comedy. Lived in Detroit and LA for a while. Opened for Jim Cary, Tim Allen, and Gary Shandling. Sold some jokes to Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield. (enough with the name dropping already!)Married 3 times. The first one only las! ted 2 years, it wasn't working out, so I had her put to sleep. Had two sons with wife number 2. We used to have "nuclear sex" - she'd get hot, and I'd fall-out. bada-boom. Met wife number 3 on the internet. Been married for over 8 years. I work at an active seniors community as the activities director and association manager. It's a fun job - I get paid to bowl, play golf, tennis, softball (senior of course)and water volleyball with the residents. I plan all of the activities, book entertainment for our 10,000 square foot clubhouse, plan bus trips, stage parties & dances, and put out a monthly newsletter, supervise the security guards at the gate, the golf personnel, and the people that work with me in the clubhouse. Our website is: www.heritageofhawkridge.com I took up golf when I got this job - they have a golf course and pro-shop and one of my perks is free golf and free food at the grill. My wife Mary Rose is a member of the St. Louis Harmony Chorus - they took fi! rst place in a regional competition this year. She is a programmer an alyst. I lost my mother just under two years ago, and my father on May 26, 2007, so between that and not really knowing many people at the reunion, I probably won't go again. But on the off chance that someone does remember me and wants to contact me, I decided to put my info on the website. During the one year at U. City I was on the track team and joined the folk music club. I was a student council rep. I play the guitar and this year taught myself a dozen songs on the keyboard. My older son Ben is 21, and attends William & Mary College. My younger son, Josh is 18, and currently working at an electronics store. Like I was at his age, he doesn't really have a clear idea at this point of his life what he wants to do. I told him there's no hurry. He'll find his way eventually like I did. Hopefully not after having 69 jobs. Both of my sons play the guitar better than I do. In general life is good for me now. My wife is the best thing that ever happened to me - she's a reall! y fun and loving person. She is 10 years younger than me (my child-bride).
Next 10 Years: I hope to stay at my present job until I am 65, then retire and write a book. I've sold articles in the past freelance. I always thought someday I would become famous either as a serial killer or a performer or writer. I hope to learn how to play golf by the time I'm 80. I played with a friend from work who is 79 - that is his goal too.
Favorite Memories: If you mean the city - Hamburger Heaven, Rinaldi's in the Loop, making out at the Olympic Drive-Inn while those funny black and white exploitation films ran. At school I had fun in Mr. Suit's art class, I once made a 6 foot paper airplane out of a huge sheet of construction paper and opened the window of the 3rd floor and flew it onto the track - almost impaled some kid! I sold a pinball machine to my english teacher, Mrs. Hotchner - she was cool. I loved running on the track team - I wasn't the fastest kid on the team (maybe 4th fastest) but did respectably in the 880 yard relay. I did well enough to get a letter. I still enjoy competition, but at this age don't worry so much about winning, now it's more about having fun. I was semi-shy as a senior; I dated, but kept a low profile in those days. On prom night I didn't have a date and ended up at the Star Dust Burlesque on Debaliver. Saw Evelyn West and her $50,000 treasure chest - she was old enough to be my! grandmother - yikes! Have fun at the reunion.

Present Occupation: Attorney

Life and Family: I have enjoyed living in Los Angeles since I moved here in 1978. My husband Jerry and I recently completely gutted and remodeled our hillside home (and still managed to stay married!). We have wonderful views from our deck of the San Andreas mountains in one direction and the lights of Hollywood in the other and would wecome sharing them with old friends from U.City who are visiting the L.A. area. I have happily cut back my law practice to part-time. My husband continues to enjoy working in the entertainment industry as a cinematographer, directing the lighting on videos, commercials, and documentaries. Our son Gareth Mandel just graduated in May from the University of Wisconsin in Madison with a degree in political science and will be moving to and starting work in New York City in July. Gareth spent a semester and a summer in Prague and I had the pleasure of being able to visit and travel with him...just as my mother (who is 91 and still living in St. Louis) did when she visited me during my junior year abroad in France 35 years ago. And Gareth was as impatient with me and my inability to keep up with his pace and stay up until all hours as I was back then with my mother and her tired feet and early bedtimes. So, as the song goes, "I've looked at clouds from both sides now."
Next 10 Years: I look forward to becoming a grandmother (although my 21 year old son says this is not likely to happen in the next 10 years). I hope to have the time and health to be able to travel extensively with my husband and to eventually open a small antique store in either a beach community or the wine country of Northern California (and I promise to give great discounts to my former U City classmates).
Favorite Memories: Even back in high school, I knew I was lucky to spend time on a daily basis with such a large group of remarkable people...from inspirational teachers like Mrs. Eckstein, Ms. Rothschild, Mr. Hale, Ms. Meyerhart, and Mr. Jackoway to my fellow students, whether I was in classes with them, on the Student Council, Senior Cabinet, Junior/Senior Prom, Senior Carnival or Dial committees with them or just hanging out with them at lunch, before or after school or on weekends. In all my years since leaving U. City, I have not had the privelege of being around so many funny, bright, warm and open people at one time in one place. I was very sad to see some of their names on the "In Memoriam" list but heartened to read about others who are in remission from cancer or who have shown great strength in dealing with divorce, the death of a spouse or the illness of a child. I hope to be able to make it to our 40th reunion but, if I don't, I will still be picturing so many of your faces in my mind that weekend... but without bald heads, crows feet or gray hair!

Present Occupation: College administrator/fundraiser

Life and Family: I've made two major moves after the age of 47, each time re-inventing my life. I've spent my entire career in the not-for-profit sector--raised $65 million as vice-president for a small college in southeast Ohio (the biggest adventure of my career) and am now helping close out a much larger campaign. The job has allowed me to travel coast to coast, meet lots of fascinating people, and know that even on the worst days the work is "doing good." One adult son, two step-grandsons, and three cats.
Next 10 Years: Retire! Figure out where I'd like to live when I retire--hopefully, a climate where I can ride my bike every day. Spend as many hours as possible on a myriad of hobbies that have not had enough of my time and attention. But probably I'll continue to be a volunteer fundraiser for several causes important to me.
Favorite Memories: A few special teachers--and learning to love biology and art. Mary Jane Euston, who helped me find a college that changed my life. Playing field hockey. Two springs at Camp White Cloud (I can still sing the silly theme song!) Working on the Dial. Some very special friends...and a few folks that I remember fondly and wish that I had known better.

Present Occupation: Pulmonary &Critical Care Doc, currently Med director of Sleep Center

Life and Family: While at University of Miami Medical Center doing Pulmonary and Critical Fellowship, met Connecticut gal, Ellen, (who was working at the Miami Herald) on blind date on 1-7-1981. Thought she was too young and too wild and didn't call her again for two months.....married 5-7-1983 ! Been back in St. Louis since summer 1981. Oldest son, Corey, is 23, graduated with film and photography degrees U. of Miami and lives in N. Y. doing free lance cinematography. Middle son, T.J., is 21 and also a film major (and psychology) at U. of Miami and will start Senior year when he returns soon from living with a Spainish family in Santender, Spain. My youngest son, Michael, is 18 and will also be a film major at U. of Miami and starts freshman year in a few weeks. My boys wnet to John Burroughs which (in addition to College tuitions) is why I'm not retired ! Since I'm the middle of 3 boys, I have 3 boys, and Ellen has 4 brothers I promised her a girl but a female golden retri! ever was the best I could do ! After 22 years as pulmonary and Critical care doc at Mo. Baptist Hosp. I got burned out and made a change and am now medical co-director at St. Lukes Sleep Center. Hard to summarize life in this small space ! No room to reminisce about time as Human Cannonball with Royal American Circus ! (Ask me about this at reunion.)
Next 10 Years: I envision retirement to travel, read, take classes, play guitar, take dance lessons (put that last one in there to get points with my wife), etc as soon as my boys, the Eisenstein brothers, collaborate and make their first blockbuster film........( for those in class with prosopagnosia, i.e. facial recogntion issues, please don't do the "do you remember me ?" or the "do you know who I am ?" questions at the reunion so that there will be fewer awkward moments )
Favorite Memories: driving thru Steak-n-shake in my underware on a dare...throwing burning paper airplane out of Mr. Hale's chem lab with Steve Levy and, horrified, seeing it fly into classroom below and to later hear that it landed, ablaze, on Clara Gutsche's head. (That's how I remember it.)...falling backwards over railing of Debbie Ruffman's front enterance of her home into bush below when attempting to give good night kiss...Dating Sharon Rubin senior year. ( "scandalous", Gloria Spirtas told me that I should date a Commenchro girl ! )...lots of great memories kindergarden thru graduation and fun times with friends(luckily remote memory stays in tact although recent memory stinks )

Present Occupation: Occupational Therapist/ Hand Therapy

Life and Family: I have been married to Bruce Becker (class of '63) for 34 wonderful years. After all these years, he can still make me laugh. We have been in Atlanta for 30 years. Ten years ago, Bruce sold his surgical practice after obtaining his law degree and is now a partner in a patent law firm. I continue to work part-time as an Occupational Therapist, specializing in hand therapy. Our daughter, Lauren (26) graduated from Washington University in 2003 and is beginning her second year in Emory University's Physician Assistant Program. I continue to follow Big Ten football and was thrilled when our son Brian, (23) attended The University of Wisconsin, Madison (class of 2006). Brian is beginning his second year at Georgia State University College of Law in Atlanta. Although we have worked very hard at our professions, Bruce and I have had the opportunity to travel extensively. Our most recent trip to Iceland was quite an adventure. I am sorry that won't be able to see everyone as I was recently in St. Louis for my husband's Pi Lambda Phi reunion from Wash U and am unable to come to St. Louis in August. Have a great time.
Next 10 Years: I hope to stay vibrant, healthy and cut back on work in the next five years. I do love working two days a week, as it keeps me active in my profession. I look forward to my children being employed. We will continue to travel. I would love to explore more Latin America and the Galapagos.

Bill Goggin

Spouse: Wanda Goggin
Present Occupation: Teacher/Soccer Coach

Life and Family: I have had a wonderful time teaching and coaching at Eureka High School in the Rockwood District. My greatest joy has been watching my son grow into a fine young man. He will be a sophomore at Eureka and plays mostly soccer and baseball. He is a great student, unlike his father, and my wife and I could not be more proud of him. We lost my mother several years ago, but my Dad is doing great and lives in our cabin in south central Mo. near the National Senic Riverways.
Next 10 Years: I will retire from Eureka High School in the next few years and for the most part we will bug our son at college(just kidding). We hope to travel more and live in the cabin down south.
Favorite Memories: There were so many. What a great time to be at U City High School. I remember great friends in many activities. I remember almost living in Heman Park during soccer and baseball seasons. I remember skipping Prom senior year because I could not afford to go. We sat at the Dairy Queen on Olive that whole evening, not really understanding what we were missing. I became a sports fan watching our football and basketball games. I remember Donkey Basketball at Ladue and the fight late in the game. So many great memories. It is hard to believe it has been 40 years!

Life and Family: Actually, our last 21 years have been quite adventurous. 1986 my husband, children, and I moved to Vegas, and enjoyed the benefits for 20 years. Now that our children have children it was time to leave Vegas as it it not the place you want to raise children. So togehter the research was on, as where is a good place to live and an excellent school district. All signs poined to southern MO. Great schools, close to the lakes, and still close enough to visit St Louis anytime. I will be married 39 yrs in July, and have 1 son John who is 38, married to Joanell, children are Aubryann 7 and JohnSam 3. Daughter Jodi, is married to Jesse and their children are Jessica 12 and Juliana 10. I guess that makes us the proudest grandparents of 4.
Next 10 Years: Within the next 10 years would like to retire and spend time at the lake.

Present Occupation: Teacher - retired

Life and Family: Alan and I have been married for 35 years. We have seen our children grow into young adults and “leave the nest.” Marty, 30, is a residential director at the University of MO-Rolla; Shelley, 27, is in communications/radio in Jefferson City. I just retired after 35 years of teaching in the Ritenour School District. My retirement was short-lived. They offered me a part-time position as a Title I remedial reading teacher. So I retired as a gifted and talented teacher and now I am teaching reading! Alan and I have traveled to Hawaii, the Caribbean, Mexico, France, and Alaska. We will be taking a 2-week cruise to Alaska this summer.
Next 10 Years: In the next 10 years I hope to continue to have good health. Alan and I are active at the JCC. I enjoy aerobics, kickboxing, and stretching classes, and swimming. We like to go for long walks at Creve Coeur Lake. I hope in the next 10 years we can continue to do those activities.
Favorite Memories: I met Alan at Wig Wam. He was a senior and I was a sophomore. I went to Wig Wam with some girls. He came with one girl and left with me! We’ve been together ever since. I remember one day between classes, he was walking me to my next class and he had his arm around me. Dr. Boyer came up behind us and told Alan to get his arm off of me! We still laugh about that today. I remember Hamburger Heaven, meeting at Steak ‘n’ Shake, trying to find a place to park my car when I drove to school, and the Saturday afternoon football games when we were the Indians.

Present Occupation: Executive Editor, Elsevier Publishing

Life and Family: How about the last 40 years, cause it seems like I've totally lost touch with almost everyone. Married in 69, lived overseas for 10 years, had 2 sons, got divorced. OK, so much for the distant past.I lucked into a career I love, working in health science publishing for almost 28 years now. Have 2 great sons, 30 and 34, and 2 incredible grandchildren, 3 and 7. I lost both parents way too early, but I think I'm closer to my kids because of it.
Next 10 Years: Another 4 years on the job and then retire to Tampa to spend more time with my grandchildren. See my youngest son marry and start a family.I've read everyone else's blurb and mine sounds somewhat dull in comparison, but I guess it's really all about family for me. I've done all the traveling I really ever wanted, never was any good at sports, and I've really achieved everything I wanted on the career front, so I just want to sit back and enjoy the years ahead.
Favorite Memories: So many great memories--would that I had realized then how special the time was. Campaigning for Paul Hewitt (Hewitt can do it!) and yet still secretly voting for Rhody (certainly I wasn't the only girl with a gigantic crush on him, was I?). Staying clear of Mr. Shelnut's stick in history. Writing quips for the yearbook. Working on the Tom Tom. Starting a BBG chapter (is Kohavim still around?)and getting very caught up in BBYO. Trying to get as many things under my name in the yearbook as possible. Hanging with Janet and Eleanor and Rita--who I've totally lost touch with. So many other friends like Cheryl Honigberg and Sherry Garcia and the Steinberg twins. Wig Wam and Steak n Shake and Hamburger Heaven and football games and musicals and UN day. What I'd give to go back for awhile like Peggy Sue did.....

Present Occupation: Commercial Property Insurance Broker/Specialist

Life and Family: In 2005, while working as Executive VP of Operations for an Insuance Broker in Chicago, the company was bought out by another company and our office was closed. So, after 27 years in Chicago, we packed up the dog, the cat, the rest of our belongings and with tears in our eyes (and no job), headed off into the sunset. Actually, we headed southeast and now reside in West Palm Beach, FL. Due to my engineering and insurance background, I was able to land a job at a large national insurance brokerage operation not far from where we live. We actully wanted to get away from the rat race in Chicago for some time now and this just seemed to be the right time to do it. It is truly like living in paradise; the palm trees and ocean. An occasional hurricane beats the heck out Chicago winters.
Next 10 Years: Staying healthy and in good enough shape continue playing softball and golf as well as traveling a little more.
Favorite Memories: My favorite memory was what a close knit commnity we where. Playing corkball and indian ball, "Sloppy Sid's" (Jack & Jill), the Beverly, Tivoli & Varsity movie houses, our tree house by the creek, etc.

Life and Family: I realize that I was always a late bloomer, so I have been raising kids for the last 10 years. I have two sons age 17 and 14 and while many of us have grandchildren , I didn't quite do it that way and it has been great. I am also juggling married life and a full time private practice as a pychologist in Kansas City. I feel I am in a different phase of my life after years of irresponsibility and fun times, life is a little more serious which seems like a great place to be right now.
Next 10 Years: I don't know, I don't think retirement is in my future, which I don't mind since I love my job and all that is going on. I hope to have more adventures, try new things and always have things to look forward to.
Favorite Memories: I have mixed feelings about high school, some good, some not. I remember driving around, going to Steak n' Shake on Olive. Hanging out with Sherry Garcia and I especially being with Charlotte Rosenthal, Danny Raben, Greg Perlstein, Rita Shapiro, Lou Wiener and many other friends. I guess the best part was the people though I have lost contact with them all. And I remeber being with Janet Zwibleman.

Present Occupation: Attorney/Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld, Washington, DC

Life and Family: Time is passing too quickly! I've been married to wonderful Marla for 22 years. We have two wonderful daughters, Rachel 18 and Anna 21. I've been living in the Washington DC area since 1975, working at my law firm almost 29 years doing antitrust law, mostly in the area of mergers and acquisitions (read about it here: http://www.akingump.com/attorney.cfm?attorney_id=97).
My 87-yr-old mother still lives in the same U City house on Pershing Ave. across the street from Flynn Park School, so I get back to St. Louis occasionally. In May 2007 I was the videographer for a family wedding at the World's Fair Pavilion in Forest Park, with side trips for pictures to the Muni and the Arch. I rediscovered how beautiful St. Louis is.
I had prostate cancer surgery at Johns Hopkins in 2004. They said they got it all. I hope they're right! (So far so good.) Being knocked on my kiester gave me a renewed appreciation for the preciousness of life and the joys of work and family.
Next 10 Years: I want to keep improving my tennis game and win some quality tournaments before time passes me by. I want to keep improving my abilities as a lawyer (they do call it "practicing" law, after all), and win some more big cases. I want to read all the books I've been promising myself to read some day (including some from college lit classes where I settled for Cliff Notes). I want to spend gobs of time with Marla, romping in all the pleasure domes of the world. I want my daughter Rachel to achieve her goal of becoming a psychologist. And I want my special needs daughter Anna to emerge from her residential treatment cocoon like the beautiful butterfly I know she is.
Favorite Memories: My fondest high school memory is of falling in love at our junior year prom. But I wistfully think of lots of other things too. Friends first of all, embedded in my heart. But also--
Cyrano's, Vias, Esquire Cue Club, Steak n Shake. And when Miss Rothschild said the stage manager in "Our Town" was meant to be God, and we wrote Thornton Wilder and asked him about it, and he wrote back and said "no" and said our English teacher had overanalyzed the play. (Except maybe Miss Rothschild was actually right.) And when Sherri Danzig talked me into peroxiding my hair (but didn't tell me you had to wash the peroxide out after a few minutes). And the Music Man cast party. And modeling Greek Sculpture in Miss Hotchner's Sr. year English class. And staying up most of the night laughing with Mike Brewen et al. in our White Cloud counselors' cabin. And playing (second string though I was) on our 0-7-1 (or something like that) football team that was really a great team with a great heart despite going winless, and should have beaten Ladue except the stupid ref didn't blow the whistle when the Ladue quarterback was tackled and clearly on the ground (and instead he! threw the winning pass). And singing Gaudeamus Igitur in Mr. Hale's Chemistry class. (Did he really cut off his toe with a lawn mower and have it gilded?) And all the political campaigns and speeches.
And the amazing sense of belonging--to the school, the community, and to each other--even if we didn't completely consciously realize it at the time. All at the end of an era--just before the world was to change in so many ways in 1968. I always think of the words of this song--do I have room for them here?

Those were the days, my friend, We thought they'd never end, We'd sing and dance forever and a day, We'd live the life we'd choose, We'd fight and never lose, For we were young and sure to have our way.

Life and Family: I’m still happily settled in Columbia, MO with my phenomenal husband of 38 years, Randy (Webster Groves ’66). Our four children, ages 23 to 34, are amazing, as are our five grandchildren (ages 1-12). We are blessed to spend a lot of time with the three grandchildren that are in town. I garden extensively, teach Tai Chi, volunteer with various organizations and play my violin in a quartet. We just bought a horse, which may mean our mid-life crisis is upon us; or, I should say Randy’s. It makes life fuller. He still enjoys the V.A. Hospital.
I like to travel, having gone overseas a few times, including two trips to Israel (once for our son’s wedding) .We’ve taken our kids on huge drives around the country, and now do them on our own or with the grandkids. We also travel close to home, seeing our families and going to our old-fashioned cabin near Ware. When I stay in U.City I try to go folkdancing.
Next 10 Years: Looking to the future, I would of course like more grandkids and to get-togethers with family and friends. I would also like to travel more, especially to the National Parks we went to so many years ago. Could I finally get organized?….hmmmmm.
Favorite Memories: The intelligent and talented people I knew, the dates ,the dances, football games, orchestra and performing in the pit for our musicals, home room, International Folkdancing at Heman Park, Cyrano’s, Latin and Miss Patterson, art with Mrs. Shaw (nee Cooper), where I had to weld a junk sculpture, student government, the driving machine with Mr. Buffa, the whole Camp White Cloud experience (I saved the manuals and stuff from Camp – can you believe it!), art editor for the Dial, Shelnutt / Angelides and their enthusiasm, Miss Harris reciting Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales, playing varsity field hockey………We were a great class in a great school.

Life and Family: My last 10 years have been especially wonderful for Elaine and me. We have been blessed to watch our wonderful children become special adults right before our eyes. They (Lisa and Greg) have both met, fell in love, and married their soul mates and they have given us four unbelievable grandchildren. Madison, 5, Samantha, 3, Max, 3, and Ben, 1. Those of you who have been blessed to have grandchildren know what I'm talking about. We are very lucky that they all live in town, because we are both very hands on grandparents (Pop and Meme). They usually sleep over at least once a week and we babysit alot. Of course, the best part is being able to give them back to their parents, they really poop us out. My work continues to be both rewarding and fun, so I plan to continue working for many years to come (I pray). I started playing men's baseball (hardball) about 8 years ago, and except for my job and family, it is the best thing in my life. It's great fun and we old! timers are happy when we come home without pulling or tearing something important. Elaine and I love to travel, cruising especially, or any other internet special Elaine can find
Next 10 Years: I sincerely hope and pray that the next 10 years of my life are as rewarding, healthy, and peaceful as the last ten. Watching my wonderful children and grandchilren grow and mature is my greatest joy in the world. I hope to continue working as long as I stay healthy and it is both rewarding and fun. Of course, I plan on playing my hardball baseball until I drop or stop hitting, whichever come first. Elaine and I will continue to travel, something we love to do. I just hope there will be an easier, better way to contact all my classmates, especially those missing ones, for our next reunion.
Favorite Memories: Even now when I drive by old U. City high, a smile spreads across my face, as it seems like only yesterday that I road my bike as a sophomore, drove up as a junior/senior and walked thru those doors. Thinking about the events that changed and formed my personality during my years spent there, only brings back all the great times, friends, and teachers that crossed my path. My life changed so much during my time there, that it is hard to list them all. Meeting my future wife, making life long new friends, while keeping all the old friends made on the playground at Pershing and my year spent at Hanley, gaining the respect of my parents, peers, and teachers are just a few things that made those years fly by for me. Playing football, especially my senior year, when I had the honor of playing with a group of guys that did not know the meaning of the word QUIT. Even thou, we did not win a game that year, we never stopped playing our hearts our. I think the TOTAL number ! of points we lost those 8 games was under 8 (you can look it up) and the most in any one game was 3 points. What a heartbreaking and morale building season that was. In baseball, our team went all the way to the regional semi-finals at State. But, in our final win, Jerry Musen and I both hit 2 run homers and Mark Pascal had a one hitter (should of been a no hitter, except I could not field a swinging bunt down the third base line cleanly, I should of been given an error, sorry Mark). Whether it was going to Steak/Shake, Hamburger Heaven (oh that sauce), or Chuck-A-Burger after watching our basketball team win another game at the buzzer with Imergoot, Brewen, Elbom, or Feldman making the winning basket, or helping out with the paper drives, sock hops, carnivals, decorating for prom/homecoming, computer date dances, and of course, Wigwam all bring smiles to my face. My growth during those years was immeasurable for me to grasp even now, as my hair gets whiter, thinner, and I ! fight to keep my waistline intact.
