Phone Number: (707) 665-9977
E-mail Address: renaissancept@yahoo.com Present Occupation: Founder/Director/Physical Therapist of Renaissance healing & Learning Center
Life and Family: Because of a back injury in 1996, I was able to create
a Vocational Rehab program of my dreams: I had been working as a Physical Therapist for over 25 years when I sustained a back injury which created problems enough so I couldn't work for 2 years. In 1998, I
continued my path of working with Special Needs population with equine assisted therapy. In 2000, I received a Graduate Certificate in Hippotherapy from Western Michigan University. In 1998, after having been working as
a physical therapist in assorted clinical and home health settings, I founded Renaissance Healing & Learning Center. It is located in Cotati, CA. in Sonoma County, which is an hour north of San Francisco. We provide "Hippotherapy" (...Healing on Horseback)and other forms of Equine Assisted Therapy for children and adults with physical and emotional challenges. Our website (created by one of my sons, Jay Sandler)is www.rhlc.net I have 5 horses (Stormy, Allie, Libby, Smoke, and Buddy)! who are the "therapists". Allie, a Thoroughbred was abandoned at a
local racetrack, which I rehabilitated to become a therapy horse. In 2005,
Allie was chosen by North American Riding for the Handicapped
Association as Thrapy Horse of the Year for Region 11 (California, Hawaii,
Nevada). Buddy, a cute Paint Miniature Horse with one blue eye,
pulls a cart. Libby is a Tennessee Walking Horse, Stormy and Smoke are
Missouri Fox Trotters! I have also become certified in Aquatic Therapy
and have been enjoying that venue as well.
I was divorced in 2000, and was able to buy a home on 2 acres in 2001,
just around the corner from the therapy facility. My daughter, Sarah,
now 12 yrs. old attends a Special Ed. day class, and lives half time
with me. I have recently acquired a Canine Companion Facility Service
Dog, "Max", whose job it is to help with therapy at Renassance Healing &
Learning. We are the first Equine Assisted Therapy program to have a
therapy dog from Canine Companions for Independence. Max also is helping a
great deal with Sarah as well.
My grown sons, Mike, Rob, and Jay are doing well. Michael has moved to
L.A. and continues his work in the non-profit field of social,
environmental, and economics. Jay is working in the bio-tech industry, and
attending classes toward his MBA. Twin brother Rob is working on his
graduate degree in astro-physics.... |

Spouse: Max Pinkus --- U. City '64
Life and Family: My husband Max Pinkus (U.City class of 1964)and I have
been married for 37 years. We have two
children -our daughter Susan is 35 and has resided in Phoenix for the
past 11 years.She is
an elementary art school teacher. She also has a master in art
administration. She is getting married in October 2007 to Grant Shapiro. Our
son Josh is 31 and has been married for ten years to HyeSook(who is
from Korea). While serving a 5 year stint in the army our son met his
wife. They have 2 beautiful children-Gianna is age 8 and Jolie is 6.
It is so wonderful being grandparents-takes a lof of energy but I
wouldn't trade it for anything. If I had known how wonderful being
grandparents was we would have had the grandchildren first. Our son now is
enrolled in the police academy.
After graduating from high school I recieved a B.A. in sociology from
UMSL-which I have yet to use. For about 20 years my husband and I had
drugstores in North St. Louis. We closed our last store in 1997.
Since then I have been at Macys (Famous Barr). Over the years I have seen
a lot of friends from U. City. Still enjoy playing the game of "where
did you go to high school".
Starting in 1997 I started going to family reunions-relatives from my
great grandmothers
branch (the Chana branch) and the other 5 branches(her brothers and
sisters. The first gathering was held in the Catskills . It was
overwhelming to suddenly know all these distant cousins. I now have relatives
from England, USA,Italy,Israel,Canada, and South America. spend a lot of
time emailing all the relatives-this has been a truly wonderful and
fulfilling experince.

Spouse: Mary Rose Cassell
Life and Family: First, I don't know if anyone besides Gene Cohen even
remembers me (saw Marty Hendon at Walgreens one day, he didn't seem to
know who the hell I was, and we were fraternity brothers at UMSL!) - I
grew up in the loop in U. City, but I was out of town for a while and
came back to St. Louis for my senior year. I actually should have
graduated in 66 and I know a lot more people from that class than the 67
class. I went to the 67 class 30 year reunion and really only saw a few
people that remembered me. It was somewhat depressing. But anyway, I
had 69 jobs before settling into the one I have now, which I've had for
the past 5.5 years. Started out in property management but left it for
a while and toured the country doing stand-up comedy. Lived in Detroit
and LA for a while. Opened for Jim Cary, Tim Allen, and Gary
Shandling. Sold some jokes to Joan Rivers and Rodney Dangerfield. (enough with
the name dropping already!)Married 3 times. The first one only las!
ted 2 years, it wasn't working out, so I had her put to sleep. Had two
sons with wife number 2. We used to have "nuclear sex" - she'd get hot,
and I'd fall-out. bada-boom. Met wife number 3 on the internet. Been
married for over 8 years. I work at an active seniors community as the
activities director and association manager. It's a fun job - I get
paid to bowl, play golf, tennis, softball (senior of course)and water
volleyball with the residents. I plan all of the activities, book
entertainment for our 10,000 square foot clubhouse, plan bus trips, stage
parties & dances, and put out a monthly newsletter, supervise the security
guards at the gate, the golf personnel, and the people that work with
me in the clubhouse. Our website is: www.heritageofhawkridge.com I took
up golf when I got this job - they have a golf course and pro-shop and
one of my perks is free golf and free food at the grill. My wife Mary
Rose is a member of the St. Louis Harmony Chorus - they took fi!
rst place in a regional competition this year. She is a programmer an
alyst. I lost my mother just under two years ago, and my father on May
26, 2007, so between that and not really knowing many people at the
reunion, I probably won't go again. But on the off chance that someone
does remember me and wants to contact me, I decided to put my info on the
website. During the one year at U. City I was on the track team and
joined the folk music club. I was a student council rep. I play the
guitar and this year taught myself a dozen songs on the keyboard. My older
son Ben is 21, and attends William & Mary College. My younger son, Josh
is 18, and currently working at an electronics store. Like I was at
his age, he doesn't really have a clear idea at this point of his life
what he wants to do. I told him there's no hurry. He'll find his way
eventually like I did. Hopefully not after having 69 jobs. Both of my sons
play the guitar better than I do. In general life is good for me now.
My wife is the best thing that ever happened to me - she's a reall!
y fun and loving person. She is 10 years younger than me (my
child-bride). |

Spouse: Jerry Feldman
Life and Family: I have enjoyed living in Los Angeles since I moved
here in 1978. My husband Jerry and I recently completely gutted and
remodeled our hillside home (and still managed to stay married!). We have
wonderful views from our deck of the San Andreas mountains in one
direction and the lights of Hollywood in the other and would wecome sharing
them with old friends from U.City who are visiting the L.A. area.
I have happily cut back my law practice to part-time. My husband
continues to enjoy working in the entertainment industry as a
cinematographer, directing the lighting on videos, commercials, and documentaries.
Our son Gareth Mandel just graduated in May from the University of
Wisconsin in Madison with a degree in political science and will be moving to
and starting work in New York City in July. Gareth spent a semester and
a summer in Prague and I had the pleasure of being able to visit and
travel with him...just as my mother (who is 91 and still living in St.
Louis) did when she visited me during my junior year abroad in France 35
years ago. And Gareth was as impatient with me and my inability to keep
up with his pace and stay up until all hours as I was back then with my
mother and her tired feet and early bedtimes. So, as the song goes,
"I've looked at clouds from both sides now." |
|
Life and Family: Both of my children are now all grown up - my son
graduated from the University of Evansville majoring in math & computer
science two years ago and working as a computer programmer/project
manager. He is engaged and will be getting married sometime in late summer or
fall 2008. My daughter is graduating this May from St. Louis
University with degrees in social work & theology. She also is engaged and is
getting married next March. Cathy is still working for Cardinal Glennon Children's
Hospital as a speech pathologist (as she was when we met) and as of this June she has put up with my nonsense for 30 years. I'm still screwing around with computers and most likely
will continue to do so until I retire. |

Life and Family: I've made two major moves after the age of 47, each
time re-inventing my life. I've spent my entire career in the
not-for-profit sector--raised $65 million as vice-president for a small college
in southeast Ohio (the biggest adventure of my career) and am now
helping close out a much larger campaign. The job has allowed me to travel
coast to coast, meet lots of fascinating people, and know that even on
the worst days the work is "doing good." One adult son, two
step-grandsons, and three cats. |
|
Life and Family: My wife and I just celebrated 36 years of marriage.
We have 2 wonderful and happy children, 1 fabulous daughter-in-law, 2
beautiful grandchildren. We enjoy gardening, traveling, singing,
birding, and most of all - getting together with family (Dave '68, Paul '71)
and friends. My parents are still going strong and still live in the
house where I was raised! I have been called "Bull" since college days. |

too young and too wild and didn't call her again for two
months.....married 5-7-1983 ! Been back in St. Louis since summer 1981. Oldest son,
Corey, is 23, graduated with film and photography degrees U. of Miami and
lives in N. Y. doing free lance cinematography. Middle son, T.J., is 21

Senior year when he returns soon from living with a Spainish family in
Santender, Spain. My youngest son, Michael, is 18 and will also be a
film major at U. of Miami and starts freshman year in a few weeks. My boys
wnet to John Burroughs which (in addition to College tuitions) is why
I'm not retired ! Since I'm the middle of 3 boys, I have 3 boys, and
Ellen has 4 brothers I promised her a girl but a female golden retri!
ever was the best I could do ! After 22 years as pulmonary and
Critical care doc at Mo. Baptist Hosp. I got burned out and made a change and
am now medical co-director at St. Lukes Sleep Center. Hard to summarize
life in this small space ! No room to reminisce about time as Human
Cannonball with Royal American Circus ! (Ask me about this at reunion.) |

Spouse: Janet Levitch Elbom
Life and Family: I've had the opportunity to participate in a life I
have really enjoyed, raising 2 children (Jonathan, 31, computer
programmer/band member, lives in Austin and Lindsey,26, public relations, lives
in Chicago) and admiring my wife of 35 years who is an award winning
journalist and journalism teacher. We take time off in the summers to
visit the Texas coast and Mexico but are otherwise pretty busy during the
rest of the year. I have been a National soccer referee and had some
interesting experiences as such. We have 7 cats and are involved with
Animal Rescue efforts. |

This whole package makes our lives complete. Being happy and healthy
along with having great friends to share good times with,is as good as it
gets. |

ten years I retired from the Tucson Police Department and the United

around this area. My own hobbies include fishing, hunting, motorcycling
and collecting firearms. |
|
Spouse: Ellen Friedman
Life and Family: Retirement has always been just around the corner but
it's been a long, long block. I moved from St. Louis in 1975 to the
Boston area and love the area. If you're not a second generation then
you're always from "somewhere else" so I still am a St. Louisan. I have
a daughter who is a fifth grade teacher and I'm still playing poker
when I get a chance. |
|
Spouse: Annette Berk Gast --- U. City '69
Life and Family: Annette and I have seen our 26 year old son graduate
college. He currently is living and working in New York City as a
Program Assistant for an Inter-Agency Task Force on Israeli Arab Issues.
Our 21 year old son is in college, planning to become a teacher of
children with learning disabilities. We have lived in the same home for 27
years. After a 30+ year career with UE/Ameren I accepted a retirement
package from them. I helped in the founding of Integrity Recyclers LLC
and have been associated with them for 4 years. Annette is a Reading
Specialist in the Pattonville School District.

|
Life and Family: I have been married to Bruce Becker (class of '63) for
34 wonderful years. After all these years, he can still make me
laugh. We have been in Atlanta for 30 years. Ten years ago, Bruce sold his
surgical practice after obtaining his law degree and is now a partner
in a patent law firm. I continue to work part-time as an Occupational
Therapist, specializing in hand therapy. Our daughter, Lauren (26)
graduated from Washington University in 2003 and is beginning her second
year in Emory University's Physician Assistant Program. I continue to
follow Big Ten football and was thrilled when our son Brian, (23) attended
The University of Wisconsin, Madison (class of 2006). Brian is
beginning his second year at Georgia State University College of Law in
Atlanta. Although we have worked very hard at our professions, Bruce and I
have had the opportunity to travel extensively. Our most recent trip to
Iceland was quite an adventure.
I am sorry that won't be able to see everyone as I was recently in St.
Louis for my husband's Pi Lambda Phi reunion from Wash U and am unable
to come to St. Louis in August. Have a great time.

Spouse: Wanda Goggin
Life and Family: I have had a wonderful time teaching and coaching at
Eureka High School in the Rockwood District. My greatest joy has been
watching my son grow into a fine young man. He will be a sophomore at
Eureka and plays mostly soccer and baseball. He is a great student,
unlike his father, and my wife and I could not be more proud of him. We lost
my mother several years ago, but my Dad is doing great and lives in our
cabin in south central Mo. near the National Senic Riverways. |
|
Spouse: John Gholson
Life and Family: Actually, our last 21 years have been quite
adventurous. 1986 my husband, children, and I moved to Vegas, and enjoyed the
benefits for 20 years. Now that our children have children it was time to
leave Vegas as it it not the place you want to raise children. So
togehter the research was on, as where is a good place to live and an
excellent school district. All signs poined to southern MO. Great schools,
close to the lakes, and still close enough to visit St Louis anytime. I
will be married 39 yrs in July, and have 1 son John who is 38, married to
Joanell, children are Aubryann 7 and JohnSam 3. Daughter Jodi, is
married to Jesse and their children are Jessica 12 and Juliana 10. I guess
that makes us the proudest grandparents of 4.
|
|
Life and Family: Alan and I have been married for 35 years. We have
seen our children grow into young adults and “leave the nest.” Marty,
30, is a residential director at the University of MO-Rolla; Shelley, 27,
is in communications/radio in Jefferson City. I just retired after 35
years of teaching in the Ritenour School District. My retirement was
short-lived. They offered me a part-time position as a Title I remedial
reading teacher. So I retired as a gifted and talented teacher and now
I am teaching reading! Alan and I have traveled to Hawaii, the
Caribbean, Mexico, France, and Alaska. We will be taking a 2-week cruise to
Alaska this summer.

Life and Family: How about the last 40 years, cause it seems like I've
totally lost touch with almost everyone. Married in 69, lived overseas
for 10 years, had 2 sons, got divorced. OK, so much for the distant
past.I lucked into a career I love, working in health science publishing
for almost 28 years now. Have 2 great sons, 30 and 34, and 2 incredible
grandchildren, 3 and 7. I lost both parents way too early, but I think
I'm closer to my kids because of it.

Spouse: Terri Gordon
Life and Family: In 2005, while working as Executive VP of Operations
for an Insuance Broker in Chicago, the company was bought out by another
company and our office was closed. So, after 27 years in Chicago, we
packed up the dog, the cat, the rest of our belongings and with tears in
our eyes (and no job), headed off into the sunset. Actually, we headed
southeast and now reside in West Palm Beach, FL. Due to my engineering
and insurance background, I was able to land a job at a large national
insurance brokerage operation not far from where we live.
We actully wanted to get away from the rat race in Chicago for some
time now and this just seemed to be the right time to do it.
It is truly like living in paradise; the palm trees and ocean. An
occasional hurricane beats the heck out Chicago winters. |

Life and Family: I realize that I was always a late bloomer, so I have
been raising kids for the last 10 years. I have two sons age 17 and
14 and while many of us have grandchildren , I didn't quite do it that
way and it has been great. I am also juggling married life and a full
time private practice as a pychologist in Kansas City. I feel I am in a
different phase of my life after years of irresponsibility and fun
times, life is a little more serious which seems like a great place to be
right now.

Life and Family: My husband, Mark and our two boys, Jordan and Matt
moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota from Chicago in 1997. We enjoyed 8 years of community involvement,
seeing the boys grow and blossom into remarkable young men. I was able to see my
broaddcast dream come true here in Sioux Falls. I was fortunate enough to have a live
radio morning show with my partner, Dave Holly, for 3 blissful years!!!! After
having worked in New York for CBS Network for 4 years, doing camera work, technical
jobs, hosting my own live radio show was the whipped topping for me!! I am blessed
in many ways. Unfortunately, my husband of 22 years moved on but the boys and I are
doing great and having a blast here in the Midwest, being a creative part of our
community and we have moved on!!!!! Our goal for 2009 is to live in Arizona and
I will get back into painting again!!! I may possibly try to host
another radio show in Phoenix. We shall see. Life is Good and loving my
family!!!!! Look forward to catching up with many of my classmates in August. See you
there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wonderful Marla for 22 years. We have two wonderful daughters, Rachel 18

Life and Family: I’m still happily settled in Columbia, MO with my
phenomenal husband of 38 years, Randy (Webster Groves ’66). Our four
children, ages 23 to 34, are amazing, as are our five grandchildren (ages
1-12). We are blessed to spend a lot of time with the three
grandchildren that are in town. I garden extensively, teach Tai Chi, volunteer
with various organizations and play my violin in a quartet. We just
bought a horse, which may mean our mid-life crisis is upon us; or, I should
say Randy’s. It makes life fuller. He still enjoys the V.A. Hospital. |

Spouse: Elaine Kootman Iken
Life and Family: My last 10 years have been especially wonderful for
Elaine and me. We have been blessed to watch our wonderful children
become special adults right before our eyes. They (Lisa and Greg) have both
met, fell in love, and married their soul mates and they have given us
four unbelievable grandchildren. Madison, 5, Samantha, 3, Max, 3, and
Ben, 1. Those of you who have been blessed to have grandchildren know
what I'm talking about. We are very lucky that they all live in town,
because we are both very hands on grandparents (Pop and Meme). They
usually sleep over at least once a week and we babysit alot. Of course, the
best part is being able to give them back to their parents, they really
poop us out. My work continues to be both rewarding and fun, so I plan
to continue working for many years to come (I pray). I started playing
men's baseball (hardball) about 8 years ago, and except for my job and
family, it is the best thing in my life. It's great fun and we old!
timers are happy when we come home without pulling or tearing
something important. Elaine and I love to travel, cruising especially, or any
other internet special Elaine can find

crouches down and tries to pretend she fits in. I work part time at a law
office and enjoy going to various sports events depending on the season. |
